Yay, I propagated the new color scheme from the corridor set to the bridge! I also took the opportunity to tweak the texturing on the lighting elements (the dome and skylights and such) but still haven’t actually set up the final lighting. All the shadows in the above image are Ambient Occlusion effects, otherwise known as “faking it.”
Also now there’s a cluster of on-screen controls set up for switching the lighting around for Red Alert, Blue Alert, and normal modes. (And another slider to set the position of the under-viewscreen fiddly lights, which you can’t see from this angle). Basically for an alert status the overall lighting dims, and the appropriate elements (dome, pillars, and console lights) change color. All I have to do is drag a slider, and all the lighting elements switch in their various ways. Nifty! As I get better lighting elements, I’ll hook them into the automated system and control them too.
